What is a Boutique Hotel?

A boutique hotel is a small luxury hotel that normally has less than 100 rooms.

A boutique hotel is generally independent and not part of a hotel chain.

They can be modern and hip, or old and historic, but whatever their design, a true boutique hotel should have something unique about it, a certain je ne sais qua. An elegance and charm that makes you feel that you are stay in somewhere unique and special. Many will be elegant and sophisticated with impeccable aesthetics all should have wonderful service.

Be warned the term is being over used now and many small hotels are now call themselves boutique hotels but just because they are small doesn’t necessarily mean they are beautiful.
